General Update.... BORING!!! ha ha

Today I am busy with Fylde Extrav (since I didn't go to Furness's last night) but first I am off to work. It is now confirmed Liz can come can she get together the money for travelling which is awesome, Matt is still unsure. Again it's just a money issue.

But I have started to map everything out on Google which is a plus, and I have found out whereabouts in France my friend lives, so it is just a case of asking my friends if we can visit, as it's slightly off the route by about 4 hours car, god knows train wise.

I have also been a little pro-active thinking about jobs after Uni. So far I have set a target of getting a job that pays £35-40 upwards for the first year after I graduate. If I cannot get this then the idea is to go travelling. At the moment I am looking at doing a TEFL course so after Uni I can get a placement with them teaching english as a foreign language abroad, perhaps somewhere like china, south korea or perhaps Japan :)

Either way I would prefer a job that doesn't mind you travelling.

Go to go get ready for work now, so I will update you when I am next free :)

Updated Travel Plans

Hellloooooo...

So here's a general update, so far searches for flights over the internet have led to me thinking I am not going to be able to afford Canada, unless they come below £500 for a return.

On a plus plans are moving forward for inter-railing. Liz is still to ask her parents yet and Matt has to see whether he can come up with the money. But we have started to plan. (By the way anyone reading this and fancies coming along just say the magic word).

The plan so far is to by a "Global Train Pass" which allows access to any country in Europe the only catch so far is that you cannot use it in your home country. Which would mean either driving down to London or sorting out a coach like the megabus or something. If people are going to come with me I will opt for the 15 days of continuous use pass which will cost £245 but if not then I will look into a 22day continuous use pass which is £275.

Depending on the finalised travel route (the countries we start and end in) depends on how we get there. At the moment the Eurostar is looking like £35 to Calais and flights back from Norway are looking at around £32.90.

It looks like with there only being 15days that we are only going to be able to cover most of Western Europe. To save time I think it is best to leave out Spain and Portugal as they are too far in the wrong direction and if I do get the grades for the University in Lisbon (Portugal) then Spain is on the doorstep for travelling.

The countries in which I wish to visit and the types of places within those countries are roughly outlined below but these are subject to change. God this feels like I am writing something to go on an advertisement of some sort haha. Any way, without further ado, in no particular order:-

1. France - Calais (ferry or eurostar to here)
- Nice?
- Marseille (for Matt)
- Visit James N (Where ever that is :P )
2. Belgium - (Just to eat chocolate of course!)
3. The Netherlands - Rotterdam
- Amsterdam
4. Germany - Munich
- Berlin
- Hamburg
5. Switzerland - Maybe just the train through just to see the mountains
6. Austria - Vienna
7. Czech Republic - Prague
8. Italy - Rome
- Milan
- Venice
- Pisa
9. Hungary - Budapest
10. Denmark - Copenhagen
11. Sweden - Stockholm and just to stay in this hostel on the way through to Norway (Click the link to see what I mean http://www.hihostels.com/dba/hostels-Stockholm-Arlanda---Jumbo-Stay-Hostel-054528.en.htm)
12. Norway - To visit my amazing friends from Uni and see some Fjords
- Oslo
- Tonsberg
- Bergen
- Stravanger
- Maybe Bodo - Northern Lights

So there you have it, the very rough plan. It will probably be edited and changed a thousand times before we/I go. But at the moment if we can fit all these places in, well I would be over the moon. Tomorrow I will submit a list of things I would like to do and see whilst going around Europe :) But for now I'm off.

Planning

Hi everyone :-)

So here I am the last week of second year at Lancaster University. My future lies undetermined and I have no idea where I could end up for the rest of the year. A few things are certain like I will never live with my awesome flatmates again. Liz is going to Germany, Norway to the south of France (scrap that, I think he is now coming back to live at Cable Street- although not with Matt) and Matt has a whole new flat to live with next year :-). That leaves me, well let's just say it all depends on whether all my hard work pays off.

For now this is all you need to know. Well that and the fact I love to travel. As summer 2010 is already under way my travel plans are still waiting to be put into motion. BUNAC fell through with the potential of studying in Portugal next semester and term dates clashing with dates spent in the USA.

The plan for the summer is to visit a friend in Canada who I lived with last year and to go around Europe inter-railing. I have no idea at this stage if this is all doable financially but fingers crossed!!!

For now I will leave you but before I go I thought I would write a list on where I have travelled to just so if any of you are thinking about going to these places I can tell you some info :-). I hope all of you have an awesome summer.

See you when I return :)

Love C Bear xx
